Wilkinson, 2004 Biographical: Carl Burton Rush was born in
Mentone, Indiana to William Ray and Bernice Rush on 20 January 1924, the fifth
of eight children. He began attending Purdue University in the fall of 1942, but
was called into the service in the spring of 1943. Carl Rush served with the 1st
Army, AGO mimeograph section. He was eventually promoted to T-3 Sergeant and was
discharged on Oct. 10, 1945. After the war Rush married Mary Thompson and
continued his education at Purdue. He graduated in 1948 with a BS degree in
mechanical engineering. He and Mary went live and work in Alvin, Texas. They had
five children. Carl B. Rush currently resides in Beaumont, Texas. Scope and Content Note: This collection consists of
reminiscences of Carl B. Rush during the years he spent growing up in Mentone,
Indiana up to the time he moved to Texas after graduating from Purdue
