Biographical Note:

John Milton McBroom was born in Fountain County, Indiana, in 1823. He married Mary Ainsworth on November 27, 1851, and Margaret Clayman sometime following Mary’s death in 1868. He had a total of seven children. McBroom began preaching in 1860 and continued until his death on April 7, 1902, in West Lebanon, Indiana.

Scope and Content Note:

The collection consists of a transcript of articles written by John Milton McBroom. They appeared in the Attica newspaper throughout 1891 under the title “The Early Settlement of Fountain County.”
