Beatrice Hedges was born in 1893 in Winamac, Indiana. Hedges married Thomas Bothast of Union City, Indiana on January 22, 1916 and died between 1920 and 1925. The 1920 U.S. Census lists Hedges as living in Union City with Bothast but does not list either in the 1930 census. The obituary record for Thomas Bothast states the he was remarried in 1925. No other information is available on Beatrice Hedges.
Scope and Content Note:
The collection consists of a Chap Record given to Beatrice Hedges by Lucille Mason in 1910 for a 17th birthday gift. The Chap Record is designed with the left-hand page utilized for diary entries and the right-hand utilized for entering information on new suitors. Spaces for information include: name, date, place of meeting, and opinion. The diary entries list daily activities and detail Hedge’s social activities.
