Biographical Note:

 Winifred Scott was the daughter of Alfred M. and Hettie D. Armstrong.  Ms. Armstrong taught for many years at Butler University and was an avid supporter of the Indiana Historical Society.

 Scope and Content Note:

 The collection consists of a typed copy of a paper by Winifred Scott read at the Indiana Historical Society on April 18, 1971.  The paper traces the Armstrong family history beginning with her great grandfather, James Armstrong, in 1821.
