Biographical:

Thomas R. Armes was mustered into the United State Army on 31 July 1861 as a Sergeant from Lawrence County, Indiana. He was mustered out on 30 July 1864 as a Private.

Scope and Content Note:

This collection consists of a diary of Thomas R. Armes that he kept during 1862 while he was with the Indiana Volunteers, 24th Regiment, Company A.
