Sanders Rainey
21 Nov. 1893 - 2 Feb. 1989
George Sanders Rainey was born in Crawford County, Indiana. On March 16, 1921, he was admitted to the Indiana bar. Rainey worked for several railroads throughout his forty-six year career as a railroad worker. He retired as a train dispatcher for New York Central in 1958. He also practiced law in Lafayette, Indiana, for a time. He published his first full-length book, Demise of the Iron Horse, in 1969. He had earlier published an essay titled Bibles in Public School; or, A Plea for Religious Liberty (1924).

Frederick E. Schortemeier
25 Mar. 1889 - 18 June 1965
Frederick E. Schortemeier was born in Shelbyville, Indiana. He worked as a reporter for the Indianapolis Star from 1908 to 1917 and was admitted to the bar in 1915. Schortemeier also served as Indiana Secretary of State.

Curtis Grover Shake
14 July 1887 - 11 Sept. 1978
Curtis G. Shake was born in Knox County, Indiana. He was admitted to the bar in 1909 and practiced primarily in Vincennes, Indiana. From 1939 to 1946, he was an Indiana Supreme Court Justice. He was also the Executive Presiding Judge of the United States War Crimes Tribunal that tried I. G. Farben Industries officials in Nuremberg, Germany. Many of his publications relate to Vincennes, where he spent most of his life.
