Harvey Morris
c. 1852 - 23 June 1937

Harvey Morris was born in Salem, Indiana. He practiced law for fifty-five years and was active in local and state politics. Morris had a great interest in the history of Washington County, Indiana, and wrote several articles and books about the area.

Morris - Parker

Walter Dennis Myers
19 Dec. 1882 - 4 Aug. 1973

Walter D. Myers was born in Rye Township, Perry County, Pennsylvania. He was admitted to the Indiana bar in 1907 and began practicing law in Indianapolis. He served in a variety of public offices and, in 1940, was appointed Fourth Assistant Postmaster General by Franklin D. Roosevelt. Myers was very active in Democratic politics throughout his life and served as a delegate to the Democratic National Convention in 1920, 1924, and 1928. In addition to his career of public service, Walter Myers was also an author.  He wrote a number of articles and law books including The ‘Guv’: A Tale of Midwest Law and Politics. He also wrote one historical fiction novel, Melted Like Snow, set during the Civil War.

Samuel Wilson Parker
9 Sept. 1805 - 1 Feb. 1859

Samuel W. Parker was born near Watertown, Jefferson County, New York. He moved to Connersville, Indiana, in 1928. In addition to being a lawyer, Parker was also a newspaper editor, president of the Whitewater Canal Company, and president of the Junction Rail Road Company. He served in the Indiana General Assembly and the U.S. Congress.
