Dale Carter was a Parcel Post Carrier at the Frankfort Post Office. Carter gathered information relating to the history of the Franklin, Indiana post office from Clinton County Courthouse records and files from the Crescent News (a former daily newspaper). The documents themselves were compiled and arranged by W.R. Strange, a clerk at the Frankfort post office.
The collection contains a six page document “History of the Frankfort, Indiana Post Office” and a fifteen page document “A Condensed History of the Frankfort Post Office.”
Manuscript material CANNOT be photocopied or digitized in its entirety. Photocopies and/or digital reproductions (i.e. scans, digital photographs) cannot exceed 25% of a COLLECTION or FOLDER within a collection.
