Biographical Note:

Rial S. Benjamin was born about 1855 in Indiana.  No other information is known about him.

Scope and Content:

This collection contains a copy of a letter written in 1902 by Rial S. Benjamin to his sweetheart Miss Tini Hawkins. He discusses his love for her, a meeting of noted authors of Ohio, Indiana, and Illinois, at which James Whitcomb Riley attended, and the chance meeting of a childhood friend Will Frimmer at this meeting.
