The Third Reich created the Ministry of Public Enlightenment and Propaganda, run by Joseph Goebbels, to promote the party’s message through all types of media format: print, radio, film, music, and books. The government utilized different content to relate to every type of audience, from the very young to the elderly, with the goal of maintaining the support and moral of the German people.

The collection contains seven large photo cigarette trading cards from the Third Reich published in 1935 and distributed by the Altonia Tobacco Company. Most of the photos were taken by Heinrich Hoffman feature Adolf Hitler visiting people and places around Germany, along with cards featuring the German people and a foreign military attaché at a Nazi party convention.
Manuscript material CANNOT be photocopied or digitized in its entirety. Photocopies and/or digital reproductions (i.e. scans, digital photographs) cannot exceed 25% of a COLLECTION or FOLDER within a collection.
