Charlotte Barrett the daughter of Charles and Ruth Herr Myers, was born in Vincennes Indiana on February 17, 1935. She married Glenn Barrett and had one son Blaine. She attended Vincennes University, Indiana State University and Ball State University. At the time of the interview Barrett had taught school for thirty-one years and was currently teaching third grade at Lincoln Park School in Greenfield Indiana. She began volunteering at the James Whitcomb Riley Home in Greenfield in 1984.
