Please send request only - do not send payment in advance. An invoice and return envelope will be mailed with the copies. Checks must be made payable to the Indiana State Library and must be for the exact amount since change cannot be made. Due to the poor condition of some print items, copying may be restricted and no item will be copied in its entirety. No copies will be made that violate federal copyright law.
Copy requests are filled in the order received and response time varies depending upon the staffing and the number of requests received. Copy requests must be in writing and specific; including the full title of the item and the page numbers needed.
Patrons who come to the library may copy most print items on coin operated machines for $.15 per copy. A change machine is available and accepts $1 and $5 bills. Reader/printer copies may be made from microfilms which have no copyright restrictions, such as census records. The cost of reader/printer copies is $.25 per exposure. Some materials require permission of the owner of the original record before copies can be produced.
