This collection contains an indenture (copy) of Joseph Andres, Jr. to master gunsmith John Sonall of Vincennes, IN on November 9, 1795. Andres was apprenticed to Sonall for a term of seven years, which he completed successfully in May 1802. The indenture lists the terms of the agreement under which Andres was allowed to apprentice himself to Sonall, and was only able to do so with the consent of his father.
