Biographical Note:

Lowene Callahan Alexander was born on March 11, 1918 in Rush County, Indiana, the daughter of Dossie and Bertha Hiner Callahan.  She graduated from Manilla High School in 1936.  After graduation from high school, she worked in a local tomato canning factory.  She was also employed by a local firm as a secretary.  She married Joseph Alexander in Cambridge City, IN on March 26, 1942.  She died in Greenwood, IN on November 3, 2002.

Scope and Content Note:

This collection contains a transcript of an interview with Lowene C. Alexander conducted by Chris Cameron.  In the interview, Alexander discusses her life in Homer, Indiana.  She discusses her family, life on a farm, the Great Depression, working, doctors, etc.
