William G. Sullivan was an Indianapolis businessman; board member, Art Association of Indianapolis; author, English’s Opera House (1960).
The papers consist principally of Sullivan’s research notes and writings, including notes and a manuscript biography of nineteenth century Indiana playwright Joseph Arthur; notes and manuscript history of the English Opera House in Indianapolis; notes on theatrical performances by John Wilkes Booth; biographical sketches of English artist John Flaxman, writer Prosper Merimee, sculptor John Rogers, and composer Georges Bizet; and drafts of his letters on literary topics.
Manuscript materials CANNOT be photocopied or digitized in their entirety. Photocopies and/or digital images cannot exceed 25% of a collection or a folder within a collection. In some cases, photocopying may not be permitted due to the condition of the item. Check with a Manuscript Librarian for other options.
