William Harrod was born September 26, 1764 in Berkely County, Virginia. Helynn Carrier, the author of the manuscripts in the collection, is one of his descendents.
The collection includes one item, a detailed genealogical study written by Helynn M. Carrier entitled, “In Search of ‘My’ William Harrod.” The typescript is dated September 19, 1986 and provides information on the challenges encountered by Carrier’s genealogical research on William Harrod. The typescript is heavily annotated and has a source list as well as an index.
