Biographical Note:

F.H. Dardeene, son of John A. Dardeene, was a student at Choctaw Academy in Scott County, Kentucky, in the year 1838. John A. Dardeene (or Dardenne) was a businessman, working out of Mt. Pleasant or Peru, Indiana during the same year.

Scope and Content Note:

Collection consists of two items connected to John A. Dardeene. The first is a letter written in 1838 from Choctaw Academy in Scott County, Kentucky, and written for F.H. Dardeene by J.W. Barros, who lodged with Dardeene. The second item is a letter providing a report of sales (and distribution?) for 20 Blb. [lbs.?] of flour received from Logansport, Indiana. The report is dated July 18, 1838 and was mailed by [J.B. Buthelet?] of Peru to John A. Dardeene in Mt. Pleasant.
