The Borst Fellowship provides a qualified MPA graduate student a unique and exceptional educational opportunity. The Borst Fellow gains practical experience within a professional setting and actively participates within Indiana’s legislative and political systems.

The Borst Fellow contributes to the Senate Majority as an assistant to its fiscal analysts.

Specific responsibilities may include, but are not limited to: policy research, tracking of bills’ fiscal summaries and actions, attendance of relevant senate committees on the budget, appropriations, and tax and fiscal matters, drafting committee and commission reports on a wide variety of policies, and providing fiscal resources to senate legislators.

This is a paid fellowship of a $5000.00 stipend for the fall semester and $350.00 stipend per week for the spring semester.  The Borst Fellow also receives tuition support for the fall and spring semester.

This fellowship is offered each year beginning in the fall semester with its completion corresponding to the session calendar of the Indiana General Assembly.
