Being A Senate Page

Students between the ages of 12 and 18 may apply to serve as Senate Pages while the Indiana General Assembly is in session. Students will serve in the State Senate for one day assisting with various legislative activities including running errands within the Statehouse, delivering messages and helping with a variety of other tasks. Being a Senate Page for a day is considered an excused absence from school.

Interested students should email or write to their State Senator in care of the Indiana State Senate, 200 West Washington, Indianapolis, Indiana 46204-2785 and include their full name, address, phone number, age, school, and two different dates you are available. Our next session begins early in January and will continue through April 29. Contact your senator early because there are a limited number of page positions available each session. You may also contact Senate Student Services after December 1 by calling 800-382-9467 or 317-232-9400. |

Individuals and groups may visit the Statehouse anytime during regular business hours. Tours may be arranged Monday through Friday by calling 317-233-5293. Tours are arranged through the Department of Administration's State Capitol Tour Office. Walk-ins may take a self guided tour of the Statehouse by picking up a tour book at a desk located just outside the Statehouse rotunda. |
