Born and raised on his family's farm in Southwest Indiana, State Senator Bob Deig is a strong voice for Indiana 's working families.
Elected to the State Senate in November of 2006, Deig previously served on the Posey County Commission and Posey County Council.
In the Senate, Deig serves as the ranking Democrat on the Local Government & Elections committee. He also serves on the Appropriations; Pensions & Labor, and Agriculture & Small Business committees.
An active leader of his community, Deig is a member of the Association of Indiana Counties, the Posey County Chamber of Commerce, Indiana Farm Bureau, National Association of Power Engineers, the International Facility Management Association and the Evansville Athletic Club. He also belongs to St. Philip Catholic Church.
Currently the facility manager for the Evansville Vanderburgh Public Library, Deig lives in Mount Vernon with his wife, Bambi. Together, they have three grown children and one grandchild.
