The Committee has the following charge:
(1) To study issues of concern relating to juvenile laws and make recommendations for
the revision and improvement of those laws. The Committee's focus with respect to
juvenile law issues must include:
(A) modifying the juvenile code to effectively address the rising juvenile crime
rate; and
(B) examining the delivery of juvenile services to delinquent, abused, neglected,
and mentally ill children.
(2) To study whether the implementation of restorative justice principles would be an
appropriate part of Indiana's system of justice.
The Committee will issue an annual report of its activities each year on November 1 and a final
report on November 1, 2000.
