TITLE 140 BUREAU OF MOTOR VEHICLES

Notice of Intent to Adopt a Rule

Under IC 4-22-2-23, the Bureau of Motor Vehicles intends to adopt a rule concerning the following:

OVERVIEW: Amends 140 IAC 4-1.3-1 by removing the requirement that prospective driving instructors complete 60 semester credit hours at a postsecondary educational institution. Amends 140 IAC 4-4-3 to require issuance of a certified driver education form to all persons applying for enrollment in a behind the wheel driver education training course. Effective 30 days after filing with the Publisher. Questions may be directed to the Small Business Regulatory Coordinator for this rule. Statutory authority: IC 9-14-8-3; IC 9-27-6-8; IC 9-27-6-11.

Resources available to regulated entities through the small business ombudsman include the ombudsman's duties stated in IC 5-28-17-6, specifically IC 5-28-17-6(9), investigating and attempting to resolve any matter regarding compliance by a small business with a law, rule, or policy administered by a state agency, either as a party to a proceeding or as a mediator.
