TITLE 140 BUREAU OF MOTOR VEHICLES

Notice of Intent to Adopt a Rule

Under IC 4-22-2-23, the Bureau of Motor Vehicles intends to adopt a rule concerning the following:

OVERVIEW: Amends 140 IAC 1-1 concerning definitions and language relating to driver records and review of agency actions. Repeals the penalty of probation. Amends 140 IAC 1-4.5 concerning the assessment and accumulation of points on a person's driving record for violations. Effective 30 days after filing with the Publisher. Written comments should be addressed to Cora Steinmetz, Deputy General Counsel, Bureau of Motor Vehicles, Indiana Government Center North, 100 North Senate Avenue, Room N404, Indianapolis, IN 46204. Statutory authority: IC 9-14-2-2.

Resources available to regulated entities through the small business ombudsman include the ombudsman's duties stated in IC 4-4-35-8, specifically IC 4-4-35-8(9), investigating and attempting to resolve any matter regarding compliance by a small business with a law, rule, or policy administered by a state agency, either as a party to a proceeding or as a mediator.
