TITLE 511 INDIANA STATE BOARD OF EDUCATION

Notice of Intent to Adopt a Rule

Under IC 4-22-2-23, the Indiana State Board of Education intends to adopt a rule concerning the following:

OVERVIEW: Adds provisions to 511 IAC to provide definitions. Adds provisions to 511 IAC to provide for the establishment of, and requirements for, performance qualified school districts and performance qualified high schools. Adds provisions to 511 IAC to provide for performance qualified high school waivers. Adds provisions to 511 IAC to provide for qualified school districts' and qualified high schools' powers and exemptions. Adds provisions to 511 IAC establishing displays allowed by qualified school districts and qualified high schools. Adds provisions to 511 IAC for the revocation of a school district or high school's certification as performance qualified. Adds provisions to 511 IAC to provide for the evaluation of performance-qualified programs. Adds provisions to 511 IAC for instructional day requirements for qualified high schools. Statutory authority: IC 20-19-2-8; IC 20-24.2-5-1.

Resources available to regulated entities through the small business ombudsman include the ombudsman's duties stated in IC 5-28-17-5, specifically IC 5-28-17-5(9), investigating and attempting to resolve any matter regarding compliance by a small business with a law, rule, or policy administered by a state agency, either as a party to a proceeding or as a mediator.
