TITLE 511 INDIANA STATE BOARD OF EDUCATION

Notice of Intent to Adopt a Rule
LSA Document #13-409

Under IC 4-22-2-23, the Indiana State Board of Education intends to adopt a rule concerning the following:

OVERVIEW: Adds provisions to 511 IAC to establish standards for the continuous improvement of teacher education schools, departments, and transition to teaching programs ("teacher preparation programs"). Adds provisions to 511 IAC to establish standards for the performance of individuals who complete teacher preparation programs. Adds provisions to 511 IAC for the annual reporting of the performance of teacher preparation programs under the standards established by the department. Adds provisions to 511 IAC for the establishment of a rating system for teacher preparation programs and for the publication of the ratings. Statutory authority: IC 20-28-2-6; IC 20-28-3-1; IC 20-28-4-10.

Resources available to regulated entities through the small business ombudsman include the ombudsman's duties stated in IC 5-28-17-5, specifically IC 5-28-17-5(9), investigating and attempting to resolve any matter regarding compliance by a small business with a law, rule, or policy administered by a state agency, either as a party to a proceeding or as a mediator.
