TITLE 865 STATE BOARD OF REGISTRATION FOR PROFESSIONAL SURVEYORS

Notice of Intent to Adopt a Rule

Under IC 4-22-2-23, the State Board of Registration for Professional Surveyors intends to adopt a rule concerning the following:

OVERVIEW: Amends 865 IAC to address the name change enacted by P.L57-2013, where the terms land surveyor will be changed to professional surveyor and surveyor in training will be changed to surveyor intern. Amends 865 IAC 1-2, 865 IAC 1-3, and 865 IAC 1-4 to make changes necessary or appropriate for conversion of the fundamentals of surveying and ultimately the principles and practice of surveying examination from paper to computer based, to allow most individuals taking the fundamentals of surveying examination to apply for admission to the examination directly to the testing service and without meeting the educational and experience requirements prior to being allowed to take the examination, and to reduce the requirements that must be met by an examinee who has failed an examination three times to be readmitted to the examination. Makes various corresponding changes and revisions of obsolete or archaic provisions in the Board's rules.
