Readopts rules in anticipation of
IC 4-22-2.6, providing that an administrative rule adopted under
IC 4-22-2 expires January 1 of the fifth year after the year in which the rule takes effect unless the rule contains an earlier expiration date. Effective 30 days after filing with the publisher.
SUMMARY/RESPONSE TO COMMENTS
The Law Enforcement Training Board (board) requested public comment from June 28, 2023, through July 29, 2023.
The board received a comment from the following party by the comment period deadline:
David Hansen, a former officer, is seeking a legislative change under
IC 5-2-1-9(o) for former officers who are eligible for a refresher training course. The statute allows a person who has been out of law enforcement between two (2) and six (6) years to complete a refresher course, rather than attending a basic training course. The commenter would like the range extended beyond six (6) years.
The agency responded to the commenter, notifying the commenting party that the concern as stated would require a statutory change under
IC 5-2-1-9(o), and is not addressed in administrative code.
