Notice of Public Hearing

Under IC 4-22-2-24, notice is hereby given that on November 13, 2023, at 2:30 p.m., at the Indiana Government Center South, 302 West Washington Street, Conference Center Room B, Indianapolis, Indiana, the Board of Podiatric Medicine will hold a public hearing on a new proposed rule concerning convictions of concern. This rule implements the provisions of IC 25-1-1.1-6 requiring every board, commission, or committee under IC 25 to revise its licensing or certification requirements to explicitly list the convictions of concern that may disqualify an individual from receiving a license; to establish criteria to determine whether an applicant should be denied a license if the applicant has a conviction of concern; and to establish a procedure for an individual to receive a preapplication determination as to whether the individual's criminal history would preclude the individual from obtaining a license.
IC 4-22-2-24(d)(3) Justification Statement: There are no new costs for businesses. There is not expected to be any new change in requirements or costs for state or local government because of this rule amendment. There are no new compliance or administrative costs. There are minimal new enforcement requirements.
