Pursuant to the provisions of Indiana Code § 4-22-2-37.2, the Governor has reviewed the proposed interim rule that temporarily adds a rule and temporarily suspends
140 IAC 7-5-1 through 11, which you submitted on July 20, 2023.
The Governor hereby finds, pursuant to Indiana Code § 4-22-2-37.2(b)(2), that the proposed interim rule is necessary to respond to changes in federal regulations under 49 CFR 380 subparts F and G, which went into effect on February 7, 2022, before a final rule can take effect. As noted, the new regulations went into effect on February 7, 2022, and a regular rule is not expected to be completed until approximately December 2023.
The Bureau of Motor Vehicles may proceed with the interim rule proposed in its submission.
