Public Notice of Renewal of the Adult Mental Health and Habilitation (AMHH) State Plan Benefit


In accordance with public notice requirements established at 42 CFR 447.205, the Indiana Family and Social Services Administration (FSSA), Office of Medicaid Policy and Planning (OMPP), and the Division of Mental Health and Addiction (DMHA) publishes this notice of renewal of the Adult Mental Health and Habilitation (AMHH) State Plan Benefit. The AMHH proposed application will be available for review and public comment from January 25, 2023, through February 24, 2023, by accessing the DMHA-A webpage (https://www.in.gov/fssa/dmha/Public-Comment/).

FSSA – DMHA proposes to re-apply for an additional five years of AMHH programming. The current program is set to expire on September 30, 2023. The renewal would support program continuation commencing October 1, 2023, for five years.

AMHH services are for individuals and their families, or groups of adult persons who need help on a regular basis with serious mental illness or co-occurring mental illness and addiction disorders. This is accomplished by assessing individuals' needs and strengths and development and implementation of person-centered care plans. The following services can be implemented through the AMHH program to ensure individuals receive the care they choose, are connected to, and can remain living in their communities:
• Adult day services
• Home- and Community-Based Habilitation and Support Services
• Respite care
• Therapy and behavioral support services
• Addiction counseling
• Supported community engagement services
• Care coordination
• Medication training and support

A copy of this notice is now on file at the Indiana Government Center South, 402 West Washington Street, Room W451, Indianapolis, Indiana and is open for public inspection. Also, a copy of this notice is now available and may be inspected by contacting the local county Division of Family Resources office, except in Marion County, where public inspection may be made at 402 West Washington Street, Room W374, Indianapolis, Indiana.
