EXECUTIVE ORDER: 21-25

FOR: RECEIPT OF THE 2020 DECENNIAL CENSUS RESULTS

TO ALL WHOM THESE PRESENTS MAY COME, GREETINGS:

WHEREAS, Ind. Code § 1-1-3.5-3 provides, for purposes of any statute described therein, that the effective date of each federal decennial census is April 1 of the calendar year following the year in which the tabulation of population or corrected population count is delivered to the State by the United States Secretary of Commerce under 13 U.S.C § 141 and received by the Governor; and

WHEREAS, Ind. Code § 1-1-3.5-3 further provides the Governor, upon receiving the tabulation of population or corrected population count, shall issue an executive order evidencing the date of receipt thereof;

NOW, THEREFORE, I, ERIC J. HOLCOMB, by virtue of the authority vested in me as Governor of the State of Indiana, do hereby acknowledge receipt of the 2020 federal decennial census tabulation for the State of Indiana on August 26, 2021, and proclaim that the foregoing shall take effect on April 1, 2022, in accordance with law.
