EXECUTIVE ORDER: 21-20

FOR: THE NAMING OF STATE ROAD 26 IN DOWNTOWN RUSSIAVILLE AFTER JEFFREY A. STOUT

TO ALL WHOM THESE PRESENTS MAY COME, GREETINGS:

WHEREAS, this Order honors the remarkable leadership, entrepreneurial spirit, and service of Jeffrey A. Stout, a visionary businessman, community leader and elected official, by naming the stretch of State Road 26 (one-half mile east and west of Union Street) in downtown Russiaville after him;

WHEREAS, Jeffrey A. Stout, a lifelong resident of the State of Indiana, began working in his family's funeral home and furniture store business at age 12, spending evenings and weekends learning not only the business but also how best to treat other people, especially in difficult times;

WHEREAS, Jeffrey A. Stout was an esteemed businessman, expanding his funeral home business, opening Howard County's first crematory, partnering in farming ventures (such as Stout-Harlow Farms), and continuing the extraordinary legacy of the Cone Palace restaurant;

WHEREAS, Jeffrey A. Stout is also widely known as an exceptional community leader who touched countless lives, having served as a county councillor, county coroner, fireman, and emergency medical technician, while also sharing generously of his time, energy and leadership with other organizations such as the Lions Club (past president), Masonic Lodge, First Farmers Bank (board member), and Indiana Coroners Association (past president), just to name a few;

WHEREAS, Jeffrey A. Stout's incredible legacy has been recognized, earlier this year, by naming Russiaville's governmental building as the "Jeff Stout Government Center," and by the creation of the "Jeff Stout Paramedic Science Classroom and Laboratory" at Ivy Tech's Kokomo Campus; and

WHEREAS, in recognition of his remarkable contributions, and lifetime of service and dedication to Russiaville, Howard County, and our State, it is appropriate to honor and recognize Jeffrey A. Stout as provided herein;

NOW, THEREFORE, I, Eric J. Holcomb, by virtue of the authority vested in me as Governor of the State of Indiana, do hereby order that:
