Under IC 4-22-2-24, notice is hereby given that on August 17, 2021, at 1:00 p.m. E.T., in the office of the Indiana Department of Health, located at 2 N. Meridian Street, Indianapolis, IN 46204.

The Indiana Department of Health will hold a public hearing on proposed amendments to 410 IAC 3-3-3 to update and add to the list of disorders all newborns and infants shall be screened for and 410 IAC 3-3-13 to increase the fee charged for newborn screenings to cover the cost of screening for new disorders.

The Indiana Department of Health has the authority to adopt this rule under IC 16-19-3-4 and IC 16-41-17. This rule will impose an increase to the newborn screening fee of $5 per screening to help defray the costs of the additional disorder. The increased fee is based on the projected cost of the program and the estimated number of newborns screened per year.
