Public Notice Regarding Changes in Statewide Methods and
Standards for Home Health Agencies


In accordance with the public notice requirements of 42 CFR 447.205, the Indiana Family and Social Services Administration, Office of Medicaid Policy and Planning (OMPP) publishes this notice of proposed changes to increase reimbursement for enrolled home health agencies (HHAs). This public notice period will run May 26, 2021, to June 25, 2021.

OMPP proposes to implement the section of Public Law 165, which directs OMPP to increase reimbursement by $10.0 million in state appropriations for state fiscal years 2022 and 2023 for enrolled Medicaid HHAs. This change will be effective July 1, 2021.

It is estimated that the fiscal impact will increase federal and state expenditures approximately $10.1 million for federal fiscal year 2021 (federal share $8.3 million and state share $1.8 million) and $37.7 million for federal fiscal year 2022 (federal share $27.0 million and state share $10.7 million).

A copy of this notice is now on file at the Indiana Government Center South, 402 West Washington Street, Room W451, Indianapolis, Indiana and is open for public inspection. Also, a copy of this notice is now available and may be inspected by contacting the local county Division of Family Resources office, except in Marion County, where public inspection may be made at the Indiana Government Center South, 402 West Washington Street, Room W374, Indianapolis, Indiana.

There will be no public hearing.
