Notice of Change in Reimbursement for COVID-19 Vaccine and
Treatment Administration Fees


In accordance with public notice requirements established at 42 CFR 447.205, the Indiana Family and Social Services Administration, Office of Medicaid Policy and Planning (OMPP) publishes this notice of proposed changes to reimbursement for the administration of COVID-19 vaccine and monoclonal antibody treatment. This public notice period will run May 26, 2021, to June 25, 2021.

OMPP proposes to reimburse COVID-19 vaccine administration and COVID-19 monoclonal antibody treatment administration equal to the Indiana Medicare rate. This change will be effective July 1, 2021.

OMPP is making this change to increase access and utilization of COVID-19 vaccines and monoclonal antibody treatment. It is estimated that the fiscal impact of this change will be an increase in state and federal expenditures of approximately $0.30 million for federal fiscal year 2021 (federal share of $0.30 million and state share of $0.00 million) and $1.13 million for federal fiscal year 2022 (federal share of $1.13 million and state share of $0.00 million).

A copy of this notice is now on file at the Indiana Government Center South, 402 West Washington Street, Room W451 and is open for public inspection. Also, a copy of this notice is now available and may be inspected by contacting the local county Division of Family Resources office, except in Marion County, where public inspection may be made at 402 W. Washington Street, Room W374, Indianapolis, Indiana.

There will be no public hearing.
