Under IC 4-22-2-24, notice is hereby given that on October 11, 2019, at 10:00 a.m., at the Indiana Government Center South, 302 West Washington Street, Conference Center Room 1, Indianapolis, Indiana, the Fire Prevention and Building Safety Commission will hold a public hearing on a proposed rule to repeal and replace the 2005 Indiana Residential Code (675 IAC 14-4.3) with an amended version of the 2018 International Residential Code to govern construction of Class 2 structures.

This rulemaking is necessary to: (1) comply with the requirements of IC 22-13-2-2.5; (2) update the standards governing construction for Class 2 structures to account for new technologies, new construction practices, new safety standards, new safety products, and new construction products; and (3) create safer and more resilient structures.
