OFFICE OF THE SECRETARY OF FAMILY AND SOCIAL SERVICES

Public Notice Regarding the 2019 Indiana Access Monitoring Review Plan

Pursuant to 42 CFR §447.205, the Indiana Family and Social Services Administration (FSSA) is seeking public input for its Office of Medicaid Policy and Planning (OMPP) submission of the 2019 Indiana Access Monitoring Review Plan. The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) requires states to submit an access monitoring analysis that includes: data sources, methodologies, baselines, assumptions, trends and factors, and thresholds that analyze and inform determinations of the sufficiency of access to care which may vary by geographic location within the state and will be used to inform state policies affecting access to Medicaid services. The access monitoring review plan must specify data elements that will support the state's analysis of whether beneficiaries have sufficient access to care.

The 2019 Indiana Access Monitoring Review Plan will be published on the FSSA OMPP web page at https://www.in.gov/fssa/ompp/5220.htm. The public comment period will be open for 30 days, from August 28, 2019, to September 27, 2019. This comment period will allow all Medicaid members, providers, and stakeholders an opportunity to provide input to the plan.

Comments and input regarding the Access Monitoring Review Plan may be submitted in the following ways:

Email: amy.owens@fssa.in.gov

Written comments should be sent to:

State of Indiana FSSA/OMPP
Attn: Access Monitoring Review Plan – Amy Owens, Federal Relations Lead
402 W. Washington St., Rm. W374
Indianapolis, IN 46204-2739

All comments will be tracked and summarized. The summary of comments as well as a summary of changes made in response to public comments will be added to the FSSA OMPP web page at https://www.in.gov/fssa/ompp/5220.htm.

In cases where the state's determination differs from public comment, the additional evidence and rationale the state used in the final decision will be added to the Access Monitoring Review Plan. The final Access Monitoring Review Plan will be posted on the OMPP FSSA site after it is submitted to CMS. A posted copy will be available at your local Division of Family Resources (DFR) office. For additional information available online regarding Division of Family Resources office locations, visit the DFR Benefits web page located at www.in.gov/fssa/dfr/2999.htm.
