Under IC 4-22-2-24, notice is hereby given that on July 25, 2018, at 9:00 a.m., at the Indiana Government Center South, 402 West Washington Street, Room W064, the Indiana Real Estate Commission will hold a public hearing on proposed rules, which update and amend 876 IAC 3-2-3, 876 IAC 3-3-2, 876 IAC 3-3-3.1, 876 IAC 3-3-4.1, 876 IAC 3-3-5.1, 876 IAC 3-3-6, 876 IAC 3-3-7, 876 IAC 3-3-8, 876 IAC 3-3-9, 876 IAC 3-3-10, 876 IAC 3-3-11, 876 IAC 3-3-12, 876 IAC 3-3-13.1, 876 IAC 3-3-13.2, 876 IAC 3-3-14, 876 IAC 3-3-15, 876 IAC 3-3-16, 876 IAC 3-3-17, 876 IAC 3-3-21, 876 IAC 3-5-2, and 876 IAC 3-5-2.5.

The benefits to this proposed rule include reducing the qualifying education hours for individuals to obtain a license, modification of language to meet the requirements of the ASC, and more flexibility in meeting licensure requirements. These changes also make it easier for applicants to fulfill the experience requirements to obtain the credentials. A provision in these changes allows credential holders to use attendance at the Board meetings as qualified continuing education credits. Changes to the education course approval section allow greater flexibility and broader approvals of educational offerings for continuing education credit.
