EXECUTIVE ORDER: 17-28

FOR: PARDON FOR GARY TIDD


TO ALL WHOM THESE PRESENTS MAY COME, GREETINGS.

WHEREAS, Gary Tidd, who has petitioned for a pardon, was convicted in 1964 in Marion Superior Court of Entering to Commit a Felony and sentenced to one to ten years and served one year at the Rockville Youth Camp;

WHEREAS, the petitioner was released on probation in 1965 and successfully completed probation in 1966;

WHEREAS, the petitioner committed the offense when he was 19 years old, some 53 years ago;

WHEREAS, the petitioner, now 73 years old, has not been convicted since successfully completing his sentence;

WHEREAS, the petitioner has actively served his community as a pastor and volunteer ministering at a homeless shelter;

WHEREAS, family and community members are supportive of petitioner receiving a pardon; and

WHEREAS, the Indiana Parole Board, after careful investigation, review and examination of the facts with respect to petitioner in this matter, has unanimously recommended that the Governor issue a pardon to the petitioner.

NOW, THEREFORE, I, Eric J. Holcomb, Governor of the State of Indiana, by virtue of the authority vested in me by the Indiana Constitution and the laws of our State, do hereby issue a Pardon to GARY TIDD for his 1964 Entering to Commit a Felony conviction in Marion County, and it is so ordered.

IN TESTIMONY WHEREOF, I, Eric J. Holcomb, have hereunto set my hand and caused to be affixed the Great Seal of the State of Indiana on this 20th day of November, 2017.
