Under IC 4-22-2-24, notice is hereby given that on June 30, 2017, at 10:00 a.m., at the Indiana Government Center North, 100 North Senate Avenue, Room N103, Hearing Room, Indianapolis, Indiana the Natural Resources Commission will hold a public hearing on proposed amendments to 312 IAC 8-2-8 to prohibit the use of an unmanned motor-driven airborne device on or over DNR property.

IC 4-22-2-24(d)(3) Justification Statement: There are no new costs for businesses. There is not expected to be any new change in requirements or costs for state or local government as a result of this rule amendment. There are no new compliance or administrative costs. There are minimal new enforcement requirements. The overarching benefit of this proposed rule amendment is ensuring the health and safety of Department of Natural Resources (DNR) property guests, personnel, fish, wildlife, and botanical resources. The DNR believes the direct and indirect benefits of this proposed rule amendment justify the need for prohibiting unmanned aircraft (drones) from operating over DNR property with no additional requirements or costs for the DNR.
