EXECUTIVE ORDER: 17-14

FOR: EXTENSION OF EXECUTIVE ORDER 17-13: DECLARATION OF DISASTER EMERGENCY (EAST CHICAGO)


TO ALL WHOM THESE PRESENTS MAY COME, GREETINGS.

WHEREAS, Executive Order 17-13, dated as of February 9, 2017, referenced the existence of certain lead conditions in a portion of East Chicago defined as the "Affected Area" and declared that a disaster emergency exists in connection therewith;

WHEREAS, as provided by the laws of the State of Indiana, the maximum time period for a disaster emergency is 30 days, unless said period is extended by Executive Order; and

WHEREAS, the 30-day period of Executive Order 17-13 expires on March 11, 2017.

NOW, THEREFORE, I, Eric J. Holcomb, by virtue of the authority vested in me as the Governor of the State of Indiana, do hereby:

1. Extend the disaster emergency that was declared in Executive Order 17-13.

2. Extend all of the findings, authorizations and orders of Executive Order 17-13 in their entirety.

3. Order that this Executive Order 17-14, and continued declaration of a disaster emergency involving the "Affected Area" of East Chicago, shall become effective immediately upon the 30th day of Executive Order 17-13 (March 11, 2017), and shall expire thirty (30) days thereafter.

It is so ordered.
