Notice of Public Hearing
Under
IC 4-22-2-24, notice is hereby given that on January 27, 2017, at 10:00 a.m. EDT, at the Indiana Government Center South, 302 West Washington Street, Conference Center Room 1, Indianapolis, Indiana, the Fire Prevention and Building Safety Commission will hold a public hearing on a proposed rule to add
675 IAC 29 to adopt standards for outdoor event equipment.
The Fire Prevention and Building Safety Commission has the authority to adopt this rule under
IC 22-13-2-8.5. The proposed rule provides regulation for the design, installation, inspection, use, and maintenance of outdoor event equipment to protect the safety of persons at outdoor performances. Impact on the inspection authority for review of plans and inspections is minimal. Regulated entities under the proposed rule would be required to have all plans and specifications prepared by an individual who is competent to design outdoor event equipment and is registered under
IC 25-4 or
IC 25-31, submit copies of plans and specifications to the inspection authority, and in some cases may need to submit plans to receive a design release. In each case a fiscal impact would exist and would be determined by each individual outdoor event equipment situation.
