TITLE 345 INDIANA STATE BOARD OF ANIMAL HEALTH

Notice of Public Hearing
LSA Document #16-221

Notice of Public Hearing

Under IC 4-22-2-24, notice is hereby given that on October 4, 2016, at 9:45 a.m., at the Indiana State Board of Animal Health, 1202 East 38th Street, Discovery Hall Suite 100, Indianapolis, Indiana, the Indiana State Board of Animal Health will hold a public hearing on a proposed rule that establishes licensing and inspection requirements for hunting preserves. The proposed rule adds 345 IAC 2-9 to set forth certain operational standards, such as signage and record keeping requirements, and specifies what is required for a licensed owner to issue special hunting permits. The proposed rule clarifies when a hunting preserve may cull permitted animals from the preserve without obtaining a special hunting permit and sets forth the requirements governing the use of a permitted animal for food after the animal has been sedated or treated with medications. The proposed rule also states the violations for failure to comply with the hunting preserve rule.
The proposed rule does not impose costs beyond what is expressly required by state and federal law. Therefore, the proposed rule does not impose costs on a regulated entity that would require a justification statement under IC 4-22-2-24(d)(3).
Copies of these rules are now on file at the Indiana State Board of Animal Health, 1202 East 38th Street, Discovery Hall Suite 100 and Legislative Services Agency, Indiana Government Center North, 100 North Senate Avenue, Room N201, Indianapolis, Indiana and are open for public inspection.
