Under IC 4-22-2-24, notice is hereby given that on February 4, 2016, at 10:00 a.m. EST, at the Indiana Government Center North, 100 North Senate Avenue, Room N1058, Department of Local Government Finance Conference Room, Indianapolis, Indiana, the Department of Local Government Finance will hold a public hearing on the proposed rule to amend 50 IAC 16 as follows: 1) to update the procedures for filing and processing amended personal property returns to conform to state law; and 2) to specify the manner in which a personal property return is to be filed as an amended return.

Under IC 6-1.1-31-10, the Department of Local Government Finance shall adopt rules under IC 4-22-2 to govern the filing of amended personal property tax returns under IC 6-1.1-3-7.5 and refunds, additional assessments, and tax payments related to an amended personal property tax return.

The Department estimates that the proposed rule will not impose requirements or costs under IC 4-22-2-24(d)(3). Because no financial impact is expected as a result of this rule, no supporting data, studies, or analyses were relied upon by the Department in its determination that the rule will have no or minimal fiscal impact on state or local government since no new responsibilities have been added by the rule.
