FOR: DECLARING A DISASTER EMERGENCY IN CLARK, CRAWFORD, DEARBORN, DUBOIS, FRANKLIN, GREENE, PERRY, PIKE, SPENCER, AND SWITZERLAND COUNTIES
DUE TO SEVERE STORMS WITH HEAVY RAINS AND DAMAGING STRAIGHT-LINE WINDS AND FLOODING
TO ALL WHOM THESE PRESENTS MAY COME, GREETINGS.
WHEREAS, IC 10-14-3-12 provides that the governor shall declare a disaster emergency by executive order if he determines that a disaster involving widespread or severe damage, injury or loss of life or property has occurred or that the occurrence or threat of a disaster is imminent; and
WHEREAS, beginning on April 3, 2014, and continuing to and including April 18, 2014, severe storms with heavy rains and damaging straight-line winds and flooding caused widespread damage to public property, including, without limitation, damage to highways, streets, roads and bridges and related appurtenances, in Clark, Crawford, Dearborn, Dubois, Franklin, Greene, Perry, Pike, Spencer, and Switzerland Counties;
NOW, THEREFORE, I, Michael R. Pence, by virtue of the authority vested in me as Governor of the State of Indiana, do hereby:
DECLARE that a state of disaster emergency existed in Clark, Crawford, Dearborn, Dubois, Franklin, Greene, Perry, Pike, Spencer, and Switzerland Counties. This state of disaster emergency was effective beginning on April 3, 2014, and continued until April 18, 2014.
