DIGEST
Temporarily amends
312 IAC 9-3-18.6 to exempt swine that are known as heritage or heirloom breeds and possessed only for food or medicinal purposes. Effective January 20, 2014.
(b) Notwithstanding 312 IAC 9-3-18.6(a), a wild hog does not include a swine that is:
(1) currently recognized in commercial livestock production, including those commonly known as:
(A) heritage;
(B) heirloom;
(C) crosses of heritage, heirloom, and other swine of Eurasian origin; and
(D) similar breeds;
(2) raised and sold only for agriculture or medicinal purposes, such as breeding stock, exhibition, and slaughter for food or the production of medicinal substances;
(3) enclosed in a manner that makes their escape unlikely;
(4) not knowingly or intentionally released into the wild;
(5) not captured from the wild;
(6) not escaped into the wild; and
(7) not offered for hunting, trapping, or chasing privileges.
SECTION 2. SECTION 1 of this document expires on January 19, 2015.
