Under IC 4-22-2-24, notice is hereby given that on September 5, 2013, at 9:00 a.m., at the Indiana Government Center South, 402 West Washington Street, Conference Center Room 8, Indianapolis, Indiana, the Office of the Secretary of Family and Social Services will hold a public hearing on a proposed rule adding 405 IAC 5-16.5 for purposes of including freestanding birthing center services as services covered by Medicaid, including definitions, eligibility requirements, a description of covered services, and reimbursement for services.

The proposed rule will not impose any additional requirements or costs under IC 4-22-2-24(d)(3). The proposed rule creates no unfunded mandates on state agencies or political subdivisions.

All persons interested in the proposed rule are invited to attend the public hearing and to offer comments at the public hearing. In addition, written comments may be sent to the FSSA Office of General Counsel, Attention: Barbara Nardi, Indiana Government Center South, 402 W. Washington St., Room W451, Indianapolis, IN 46204 and must be received on or before September 5, 2013, at 5:00 p.m. Correspondence should be identified in the following manner: "COMMENT RE: LSA Document #12-4, Birthing Center Services". All written comments concerning the rule that are received by the FSSA Office of General Counsel on or before September 5, 2013, at 5:00 p.m. will be available for inspection at the Indiana Government Center South, 402 West Washington Street, Room W451, Indianapolis, Indiana.
