Under IC 4-22-2-24, notice is hereby given that on April 18, 2013, at 9:00 a.m., at the Indiana Government Center South, 402 West Washington Street, Conference Center Room 3, Indianapolis, Indiana, the Office of the Secretary of Family and Social Services will hold a public hearing on a proposed rule adding 405 IAC 5-16.5 for purposes of including freestanding birthing center services as services covered by Medicaid, including definitions, eligibility requirements, a description of covered services, and reimbursement for services.

The proposed rule will not impose any additional requirements or costs under IC 4-22-2-24(d)(3). The proposed rule creates no unfunded mandates on state agencies or political subdivisions.

All persons interested in the proposed rule are invited to attend the public hearing and to offer comments at the public hearing. In addition, written comments may be sent to the Office of Medicaid Policy and Planning, Attention: Judith Coffey, Indiana Government Center South, 402 W. Washington St., Room W374, Indianapolis, IN 46204 and must be received on or before April 18, 2013, at 5:00 p.m. Correspondence should be identified in the following manner: "COMMENT RE: LSA Document #12-4, Birthing Center Services". All written comments concerning the rule that are received by the Office of Medicaid Policy and Planning (OMPP) on or before April 18, 2013, at 5:00 p.m. will be available for inspection at the OMPP, Indiana Government Center South, 402 West Washington Street, Room W374, Indianapolis, Indiana.
