FOR: PARDON FOR STEPHEN GRIFFIN
TO ALL TO WHOM THESE PRESENTS MAY COME, GREETINGS;
WHEREAS, STEPHEN GRIFFIN, who petitioned for a pardon, was convicted in Marion County of Assault and Battery in 1971, Entry to Commit Felony Theft in 1971, and Visiting a Common Nuisance in 1979; and
WHEREAS, the petitioner, is now a 60 year-old man who has been a productive member of society, served in the United States Army from 1979 to 2001, and received the Armed Forces Service Medal for Meritorious Service and Army Achievement Medal on multiple occasions; and
WHEREAS, the petitioner has been actively involved in his community, has volunteered with the Special Olympic and Junior ROTC, has obtained an Associate's Degree from St. Martin's College, Bachelor's Degree from Park University, and a Master's Degree from the University of Phoenix; and
WHEREAS, the Parole Board, after careful investigation and examination of all the facts in this case, has unanimously recommended to the Governor that this pardon be granted.
NOW THEREFORE, I, Mitchell E. Daniels, Jr., Governor of the State of Indiana, by virtue of the authority vested in me by the Constitution and the laws of said State do hereby issue a Pardon to STEPHEN GRIFFIN.
IN TESTIMONY WHEREOF, I, Mitchell E. Daniels, Jr., have hereunto set my hand and caused to be affixed the Great Seal of the State of Indiana on this 8th day of November, 2012.
