Under IC 4-22-2-24, notice is hereby given that on August 6, 2012, at 10:00 a.m. EDT, at the Indiana Government Center South, 302 West Washington Street, Conference Center Room 1, Indianapolis, Indiana, the Fire Prevention and Building Safety Commission will hold a public hearing on a proposed rule to amend NFPA 10, Standard for Portable Fire Extinguishers and makes conforming changes.

The Fire Prevention and Building Safety Commission has the authority to adopt this rule under IC 22-13-2. The new rule allows the use of new technologies in fire-extinguishing chemicals, electronic monitoring of portable fire extinguishers, and updates the list of obsolete portable fire extinguishers. The proposed rule may result in cost savings to the regulated community.
